You see,
if we just throw a dog leg
right about — here,

John’s aunt
can keep her hotdog cart
right — here.

That way, my brother, Tommy, (you all know Tommy)
can keep his sausage stand
right — here.

The engineer replied,
You can’t just — turn —
an expressway.

The City Planner (soon to be governor) said,
Sure you can, all you have to do is
turn it — right . . . about . . . here.

If we don’t, you see,
Jimmy’s cousin, Mary (you all know Mary) will have to move her sweaters
over — here.

Nobody’s gonna buy Mary’s sweaters
if they’re way —
— over here,

you understand.
How much
do you need?

Oh, here, have a sausage.
