Hello potential Midnight Mind author! We have so many nooks and crannies in the magazine that you can submit ideas for, like:
– Overlooked Art
– “In Praise of”
– Book and music and film reviews / essays (usually around 250-1000 words)
If you want to see examples, we highly suggest picking up or ordering a copy to see what we are doing and get the vibe.
5-26-26 update: we just finished Midnight Mind Number Ten and now is probably the worst time to send work in to us. We’ll announce the next issue’s theme in about 1 month right here on this page. We’ll have some head space to start on #11 at that point.

Our rights ask: Midnight Mind Magazine acquires first serial rights for publication in print and electronic and archival rights for publication online. All other rights remain with the authors.
Generally, that means we want to publish it in the magazine, possibly publish it online to either promote the magazine or promote your work if the magazine sells out. In addition, we request the option to possibly read an audio version of the work in a future podcast.
