Hello potential Midnight Mind author! We have so many nooks and crannies in the magazine that you can submit ideas for, like:
– Overlooked Art
– “In Praise of”
– Book and music and film reviews / essays (usually around 250 words)
If you want to see examples, we highly suggest picking up or ordering a copy to see what we are doing and get the vibe.
In progress: Midnight Mind Number Ten: Our connection to water.
The human connection to water takes many forms. We contemplate life choices while staring at the ocean or a slow-moving river. Annnnd we use it as an opportunity to drink beer and surf. We want number 10 to explore our connection to water: from teen angst at pool parties to powerboats to quiet rivers to late night illegal fountain swimming. Let’s hear stories of failure, fear, redemption and as we negotiate the pool, ponds, lakes and rivers of our lives.

Our rights ask: Midnight Mind Magazine acquires first serial rights for publication in print and electronic and archival rights for publication online. All other rights remain with the authors.
Generally, that means we want to publish it in the magazine, possibly publish it online to either promote the magazine or promote your work if the magazine sells out. In addition, we request the option to possibly read an audio version of the work in a future podcast.
