Okay – it’s alot to ask. You have written something that you think it pretty good. Or maybe you think it’s bad. Or maybe you don’t know.

Now is the time to take the chance.

We are looking for creative work to put into Midnight Mind Number Seven – our first print issue in 20 years.

What are we looking for? It’s hard to describe but, thanks to conversations with some of our writing friends, we have narrowed it down to this:

We need work that explores or attempts to define or … or takes a unique or unsung perspective on a piece of culture. A slice of culture. A piece of us – of the human condition – of the world we live in – of the people around us – the person you were – the person you are. It can be poetry or fiction or non-fiction or drawing or – who knows – a message written on the side of a tennis ball or the side of a firecracker. It can be dark. It can be light. It can make fun. It can make serious. But it has to explore. It has to spark thought. It has to stick.

Okay. That’s all we have for now. We’ll look back on this someday and think, what an assholely way to say this. But that day is not now so this stands. We are making this up as we go along.

Send work, questions, etc to editor@midnightmind.com.
