Heavy Things

midnightmind, September 7, 2026August 26, 2026

by Mark Richner

Picking up on need to fall out
and widen simple kicks

Walk, talk to ground-
Conversation with ground saying,
“Where, what, do you, do you?”

Ritual external elaboration
the custom of cud chewing

“May I borrow your gas mask satchel?”
“If or when,” replied cow, “global
demilitarization occurs.”

King of the cows’
chief concern: compassion

Under weight of pressure
ground cracked revealing nothing

Simple kicks narrowed-
Returning, thoughts and dreams flourish
