Leigh Adams started Sugar Needle zine with co-editor Cathy Camper. Leigh and Cathy met through Global Mail, a zine dedicated to mail art listings. It is common in the mail art world to use a “live name” or alias. Leigh’s art and writing is commonly filed under her mail art name – phlox icona. Her artwork has appeared in Rubberstampmadness, The Studio and 1843 zine. She also produces Cherry Monocle zine to showcase larger mixed media pieces that might not make it through the mail. Collecting candy wrappers has been an integral part of her mail art and apparently eating the candy has been fun too.
Her work was featured in Midnight Mind Number Four.
