Frederick J. Frenger, Jr. lost a finger in a bungled robbery attempt but, contrary to what most people think, he survived. Since then, he has been living in Palmetto Bay, Florida, trying to make a living in the wine business while writing poetry and essays on the side. His work has been published in several journals.
