Alexander Sammartino was born in Rhode Island and grew up in Arizona. He received his MFA in fiction from Syracuse University. A National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 Honoree, his debut novel, Last Acts, is a finalist for the NYPL Young Lions Fiction Award. His next novel, Gallo, is forthcoming from Scribner. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and cat.
